Bon Jovi
Do you know which singer’s acting career started with a 2 seconds role in a movie? I am talking about Jon - the lead singer of Bon Jovi’s band which you can see on live concert in Sofia on the 14th May 2013. Maybe you didn’t guess that because Jon Bon Jovi is least famous for his acting skills but the music he and the band’s members make is just amazing.
The rock band may have Jon’s name but it actually consists of 4 memebers (originally 5). These are Jon Bon Jovi – lead singer, Richie Sambora – guitarist, David Bryan – keyboardist, Tico Torres – drummer and Alec John Such – bass guitar and backing vocals. In 1994 Alec John Such was unofficially replaced by Hugh McDonald and now the official number of the band musicians is four. Two of the band’s members - Jon and Bon Jovi keyboard player David Bryan have known each other for a very long time for they went to high school together.
The band got together in 1983 and hasn’t stopped making rock hits since then. Bon Jovi got a break in 1990 but got together again in 1992 releasing the album Keep the Faith.
During its career the band has sold 120 million albums worldwide. The band has more than 2 600 concerts in over 50 countries. Bon Jovi has many awards. One of the most important honors for the band was in 2004 when they were ranked number 14 in Q magazine's 50 Greatest Bands of All Time.
